Pea hits Daytona Beach to interview American men about what it's like being a man in America, whether they feel appreciated by women, the state of relationships, and whether the US is a good place to live. She gets a wide range of responses โ€” from a guy who's been living off-grid in the woods to a baby boomer lamenting cultural decline โ€” and finishes with a secret experiment to test whether Filipinas really do get a "point bonus" from Western men.

Interview 1: 23-year-old man โ€‹

  • Feels appreciated by women "to an extent" but frames it through a red-pill lens: at 23, he feels he's becoming more valuable while "woman's value kind of starts to go down"
  • Quality women depend on location: "100% depends on where you're at โ€” I'm still looking for the place where the cool ones are"
  • Doesn't blame men or women for relationship problems โ€” thinks it's "a cultural thing where people kind of pick sides and it's become very divided"
  • If he could change one thing about American women: "Too many psychos out there โ€” people need to be more easygoing and lovable"
  • Pea asks what the psychos are like; he asks if he can use vulgar language (she offers to bleep it)
  • Open to dating someone from another country, and would trade Western conveniences to live in a third world country for a quality mate
  • Doesn't know exactly where the Philippines is โ€” guesses "it's in Indonesia... close to that"
  • Pea tells him to try the Philippines when he's ready

Interview 2: Baby boomer โ€‹

  • Life in America is "pretty good" but values have "changed drastically" since his generation
  • Each generation after the boomers represents decline โ€” "it takes a village to raise a child, but it's not like that now"
  • Best thing about America: choice and freedom
  • Worst thing: government trying to influence and sway voters, especially young people โ€” "the kids can be easily swayed"
  • Quality women are still out there but it's location-dependent: Southern women are polite, "if you treat them right they're going to treat you right" โ€” but "up north or west it seems to get a little worse" and that attitude is now filtering into southern and eastern cultures
  • When asked where the Philippines is: guesses it's "way east" near "Mangoria" or "Macedonia or whatever"
  • Has a kite he's trying to teach his grandkids to fly โ€” Pea shares that in the Philippines, kids make kites from plastic bags and coconut leaves; he says his generation used newspapers

Interview 3: Man who answers "oh no" to feeling appreciated โ€‹

  • Pea asks if he feels appreciated by women โ€” he just says "oh no"
  • Pea notes: "I think that was the answer"
  • Doesn't elaborate further; a thunderclap interrupts

Thunderstorm interruption โ€‹

  • Florida lightning forces everyone off the beach; beach patrol warns people out of the water
  • Pea notes Florida is the "lightning capital of the US"
  • Compares it to the local saying: "if you don't like the weather, just wait 10 minutes and it'll change"
  • She moves to the boardwalk to continue interviewing

Interview 4: Married man (22 years), detailed and passionate โ€‹

  • In the single life, men are absolutely not appreciated the way they used to be
  • "A lot of the younger generation โ€” the women are hostile. Somebody told them a long time ago that they don't need men and they took that to heart"
  • The pendulum has swung so far that "women can't even find dates"
  • Finding a quality lifelong partner is no longer the norm: "A long-time romance is three or four or five months now"
  • Just celebrated 22 years with his wife โ€” that used to be normal but isn't anymore
  • Blames "women's lib" going too far: "Really was a good thing to help women, but now they've taken it so far that they've lost what they were going for"
  • Brings up trans women in women's sports as an example of the movement backfiring: women who worked their whole lives to be swimmers or basketball players are now losing opportunities
  • "They've just gone too far and they don't know how to get it back"
  • On equality: "What rights do men have that women don't? In the corporate world they have equal opportunities"
  • But adds that women aren't going to be "building bridges or rock walls or streets" โ€” "a woman needs to be a woman"
  • Defines what a woman is: "a female and somebody that in a relationship will work equally with you โ€” put you first, and vice versa"
  • Finding a quality woman: "It's not difficult, you just can't jump on the first one you find โ€” it's like finding Easter eggs, you gotta keep looking"
  • On the war between men and women: "Oh there's a war going on around here about something"
  • Blames the younger generation being "educated stupid" by the government
  • Contrast between how he was raised ("America, apple pie, Chevrolet โ€” if you get up every day and go to work, you can have what you want") versus today ("they're being raised to where if you stand around and do nothing somebody's going to give it to you")
  • "I'm not entitled to anything โ€” if you're not willing to help yourself, I'm not going to help you"
  • On "free stuff" demands: "Nothing's free. I work 70 hours a week, I make really good money. I pay for a lot of people's free โ€” the stuff they think is free, I pay for a lot of it"

Interview 5: Off-grid woods guy โ€‹

  • Almost 41, hasn't met any women in a long time because he lives deep in the woods off-grid
  • Every answer relates back to the woods: asked about quality women โ€” "like I said, I was in the woods a long time"; asked about equality โ€” "I'm from so far in the woods people don't even understand"
  • Pea's internal reaction: "If he says woods one more time, I'm out of here"
  • She advises the audience: "Just keep smiling and back away slowly"

Interview 6: Relaxed, positive American man โ€‹

  • Enjoys life in the US โ€” "very beautiful country"
  • Best thing: freedoms, places to travel, things to do without restrictions
  • Worst thing: crime, political divide, people not living and letting live
  • Feels appreciated by American women "most of the time"
  • Doesn't think it's difficult to find a quality woman: "They're out there for sure"
  • Doesn't believe there's a war between men and women โ€” "the media likes to portray that but I don't think in reality, no"
  • Marriage is "a great option for most people โ€” a way of building wealth, a way of having a great comfortable life"
  • Benefits of marriage for a man: "You're not alone, you have a companion, someone to speak to openly about how you feel, how to get through each day"
  • Would NOT trade Western conveniences for a perfect mate in a third world country: "I love my conveniences here"
  • Guesses the Philippines is "nearer above China, maybe above China"

Interview 7: Brief interview โ€‹

  • Thinks marriage "should be bigger" โ€” everybody's starting to do their own thing and "the big man upstairs is not being followed enough"
  • Guesses the Philippines is in "the South America area"

Pea's observations and takeaways โ€‹

  • Surprised by the wide range of answers โ€” expected men to "really unload on Western women" but a surprising number didn't even see an issue
  • Most said marriage was still a viable option
  • Almost every guy said the US was a fine place to live with only a few minor problems

The Filipina rating experiment โ€‹

  • Pea tests her theory that foreign guys rate Filipinas a few points higher than Filipino guys back home

  • She describes herself as having "average looks" and rates herself "about maybe a five" in the Philippines

  • Shows men a photo of herself (without them realizing it's her) and asks them to rate the woman on a scale of 1-10

  • Results: 10, 8, "almost a 10," 8, 10 โ€” not a single one realized it was her in the photo

  • Her conclusion: "Filipinas get about a four-point bonus from Western guys โ€” so the next time they tell us how cute we are, they probably mean it"

  • She teases the next episode: "Coming up, I'll be talking to the ladies"
